some random sunday stuff

1. I've been sore for days. My back, neck, shoulder. I did a bunch of yoga thinking I'd stretch it out the other day. The next morning Steven had to pull me out of bed. Lots of T3s. I think I might live. 2. I really want to eat the bagel that's thawing on the counter. But then I'd have to get up and put it in the toaster. 3. Steven and the kids went to the Halloween Haunted Museum here in town last night. I stayed home. Steven did not bring me an owl. I was horribly disappointed. One does not send his wife a picture of the cutest tiniest owl in the world, and then not steal it for her at the end of the night.  4. I should probably do laundry. Or grocery shop. Or pack lunches. I should probably do a lot of things. 5. I won Phase 10. Steven pouted halfway through and had a mini tantrum. Look what he did to the cards when it was my turn to shuffle.

did all the things today, even if finding ten was a stretch

Today I have accomplished: 1. A nap on my couch in the middle of the afternoon, in my kitchen. 2. I took the kids to swimming lessons. 3. I hit a bunch of pokestops and got no revives . I know, it's kind of a big deal. 4. I ditched my family for 30 minutes to meet a friend at a specific pokestop so we could lure it and sit there for 30 minutes and see what turned up. 5. Showered. 6. Braided daughters' hair. 7. Transferred a spider plant from an itty bitty container to a nice hanging basket thing that has yet to be put up. CoughCoughStevenCough 8. I told Steven that he was making pizza for supper. Nicely. He's totally doing it. 9. I drank all the coffee . 10. I stayed completely caught up on my blog. Go. Me.

ten things i should have blogged about in the last three months

The list is long, let's see if I can remember any of it. 1. Mitchell had minor dental surgery. He now has silver caps on two of his six year molars. Watching him come out of the anesthetic was about the cutest, sweetest, most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen.   2. We spent a week at Rushing River. I may have to come back to this in the future. It was an awesome week, complete with an accidental 8km hike, an almost-bear sighting (be to fair, it was the neighbor's sighting, but still, we were neighbors), monstrous spiders in the outhouse, a complete lack of fish in Ontario's water system, and and and. Can't wait to go again.   3. Jordan and Tennyson were on a traveling soccer team. We had tournaments in Winnipeg in June and August.   4. First day of school. I didn't post the obligatory first-day-of-school pictures of my kids on facebook like all the good parents did, but they know I love them nonetheless. Elliot is in grade 1 this year! Wit...

spring break, 2016 - BOOM, it's over, just like that

It always seems like a week off is a long time, at least until it's Sunday and you're thinking about whether you feel like going shopping so you can make the kids real lunches, or just filling baggies with dry cheerios. We didn't do much. Well, we did a few things, but our ten days was sprinkled, nay, blanketed, with lounging about at home. Home is so nice sometimes. What did we do when we weren't in day three of the same pajamas and unwashed hair? Alright, I'll come up with something. Some Spring Break-Type Stuff On Saturday my Aunt Marie invited us over to her house to join her and her lovely children and step-children for dinner. It was delicious and plentiful. The kids tired out the dogs, splashed around in the hot tub, and ate multiple pieces of pie, which is odd because they were way too full to finish their dinner.  On Sunday, Steven's mom and sisters and nephews came here for potluck Easter dinner and cards and chips and a little rum. A good t...

today's ten things, and a bit of other randomness

I'm not feeling particularly "bloggy" tonight. There are a few things that would be fun to write about, but I don't want to ruin them. If that makes sense. Nanowrimo is coming again in November. I know it's kind of goofy to devote so much time to something I'll never ever let anyone else read, or read again myself (for the most part), but it's awfully fun to do. I've only ever finished twice, so this year I'm determined to make the third. I made Steven order a power cord for his own computer last night. I just now kicked him off his computer so I could take back my power cord. I feel like I should write about what we did today. Let's do it in ten points. Today's Ten Things: 1. I took Elliot to swimming lessons, but not before she freaked out at me at home because I brushed her rat's nest air, and she doesn't think it needs brushing if she doesn't have to go to school. Her meltdown quickly became a tantrum, and she d...

i don't know how everyone manages to find 100 things about themselves over and over again!

Because I'm certainly not that interesting. Those lists are fun though. The last one I did ended with my sneaky little pregnancy announcement. I can do ten things though! Ooh, Ten Things Tuesday! 1. I ate Jordan's snack. She forgot it in the van. It was a banana. There's nothing like a forgotten snack to make a person wish she made her kids way cooler snacks. 2. I visited a friend. My baby left teeth marks in her baby's head. Sorry 'bout that. 3. I made pancakes for lunch. 4. I had a tossed salad (dressing free!) with tuna for supper. Then I accidentally ate the last of the kids' spaghetti and sauce and an ice cream cone. 5. I went to the doctor. 6. I got out of bed just after 5am to walk 3.5 miles. 7. I did not measure my cheerios in a vain attempt to try to fool myself into believing that I wouldn't toss calorie counting out the window by noon. I love me a full bowl of cheerios. 8. I tried really hard not to make fun of Steven's newest ridiculous facia...
