blogtober 1st or 2nd, nobody knows, really

Today is Blogtober 1st. Okay, it's really the 2nd, but the blog has this handy option to backdate posts to make it look like I didn't already miss a day on, well, the first day of Blogtober. So here I am. Many things have happened this last summer, the kids have grown, we've most likely changed, house renos, etc. etc. I've been seeing things all over about forming writing habits. Maybe it's a sign. Apparently writing each day, about anything, is the place to start, so that's what I'm going to do.

Jordan has suddenly become a person. I know, I was surprised too. She's always been a person, but she's been extra "persony" lately, in many ways. She has a social life. Seriously, she has more friends than I do. She phones them, they coordinate events they're going to, they arrange to travel to school functions together, they set up play dates. Dropping a bunch of womanly hormones into a child has been awesome. (By awesome, I mean horrendous) She ha...

spring break, 2016 - BOOM, it's over, just like that

It always seems like a week off is a long time, at least until it's Sunday and you're thinking about whether you feel like going shopping so you can make the kids real lunches, or just filling baggies with dry cheerios. We didn't do much. Well, we did a few things, but our ten days was sprinkled, nay, blanketed, with lounging about at home. Home is so nice sometimes. What did we do when we weren't in day three of the same pajamas and unwashed hair? Alright, I'll come up with something. Some Spring Break-Type Stuff On Saturday my Aunt Marie invited us over to her house to join her and her lovely children and step-children for dinner. It was delicious and plentiful. The kids tired out the dogs, splashed around in the hot tub, and ate multiple pieces of pie, which is odd because they were way too full to finish their dinner.  On Sunday, Steven's mom and sisters and nephews came here for potluck Easter dinner and cards and chips and a little rum. A good t...
